The New Year

Yesterday was a relaxed, yet big day for me. I woke up thinking I needed to bin a lot of old things in my life and went about doing just that after I got up. It could be that I’m eight months pregnant and feel the need to nest or perhaps it is just because it’s a new year and I want to clear out a lot of old junk to move on with my life in 2016. Either way, it felt good. I threw out a lot of old history stuff, which kind of feels like a past life really. I know I said it before but it felt so so good. The very odd thing was though that I started to feel sick and suddenly yesterday afternoon I was hit with a head cold. I haven’t come into contact with anyone with a cold lately…plus it’s the middle of summer. I think that my body released all the old stuff too at the same time…I cleared the clutter in the house and so my body did the same. By letting go of the old things in my life, my body was able to let go of it too. The good thing is that today I feel better. Still have the head cold thing happening but I know it’s nothing major and it will pass in a few days. In the words of Paul Coelho in his “Closing 2015” 30 December 2015 Facebook post: “Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts – and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place. Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them.”
